My Lala by Thomas King & Charlene Chua (197)
This is a charming book for kids of all ages about an exuberant little girl who is quick and so full of life. One morning, when came bring and early, Lala decided that she owned the world. The world was hers and she was going to enjoy it by hooker or crooker. Lala is as quick as a fox. She heads straight to her box and finds her red dots to mark what is hers. But as she puts various red dots all over the place, she looks around and sees nothing but red dots. She is so excited she can’t really contain herself. Lala’s bear gets a dot and so do her blankie, boots, and even the markers she uses to make scrawls on her walls. But what will Lala do when she runs out of dots? How will she mark what is hers then? The reader gets the opportunity to join the exuberant Lala on her quest to claim the world in this joyful picture book that celebrates confidence, creativity, and positive thinking. I loved the book from start to finish. It is a book that will enlighten and even inspire kids of all ages. It is a book that will be read and reread by kids and adults too as a bedtime story or much more. Reviewed by: Irene S. Roth
