I love March. It’s precisely moving toward the end of the first quarter of 2025. And it’s time to take stock of how we’re doing. It can be hard to do so, especially if we had a difficult first few months of the year, which I know I have.
If you’re in a similar boat, please don’t be overly judgmental. Just take some time to have a strong March. This can help us to bring the first quarter to an end in the most effective way possible. Think of how good you’ll feel to even get one small goal completed.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself.
- How were the first few months of the year for you?
- What worked? What didn’t?
- What now? What can I do to salvage the first quarter?
It’s very important for us to reflect on the obstacles we endured and why we didn’t get as much done. In my case, I didn’t say no when I should have. I kept accepting people’s requests—things that I very obviously shouldn’t have. So, I had to learn some important lessons.
From now on, I will:
• Avoid taking on extra obligations
• Put in five to eight hours per week on secondary things that are not part of my goals.
• Schedule rest breaks so that I’m not exhausted.
• Make space for hobbies or going out to lunch with my hubby.
• Turn off emails/texts at a certain time.
• Make a list of all my secondary obligations and cut back on some if I need to.
• I’ll keep my main writing goals front and center.
So, what do you need to do differently? Do some reflecting now and end this quarter strong.
